Mount & Place a Toilet Paper Holder to a Ceramic Tile

Although installing a toilet paper holder may seem simple, planning will save you time, effort, and money. It is easy to place your toilet paper holder too close to the toilet. This could lead to frustration multiple times per day.

It is crucial to choose the correct placement for your toilet paper holder to ensure comfort in your private bathroom.

A wall-mounted toilet paper holder should be attached within easy reach of the toilet. However, it shouldn't be too close as to crowd the user. Toilet paper holders are mounted on the wall or in a cabinet next to the toilet. They should be approximately 23 inches away from the floor and 5 inches in front.

It is best to place it close to the toilet. This may mean that the holder should be placed near the toilet wall. You might find tiling on bathroom walls as a decorative wall covering.

Things That You Need

  • Diamond bit 6-7mm in diameter

  • Masking tape

  • Pencil

  • Niveau

  • Anchors made of plastic

  • Rubber mallet

  • Screwdriver

Instructions:

1. Pick the spot on the tile wall where the toilet paper holder should be attached.

2. Apply a stripe of masking tape to the chosen location. If you wish, you can cover the entire tile with masking tape. You may be required to cut two tiles with some toilet paper holders.

3. Place the toilet paper holder slightly below the desired location. Mark the post locations on the masking tape with a pencil. To ensure that your marks are straight, you need to use an appropriate level.

Ceramic tiles require extra care. To hang the toilet paper holder onto a ceramic wall, you will need the same anchors and screws as hanging it on drywall. You will need a special bit to cut tiles on tiled walls.

4. Attach either a 6mm or 7mm diamond bit to the drill. Press the bit down on the marked area on the masking tape.

5. Start drilling at the slowest speed. How hard you pull the trigger on the drill will control how fast a drill runs. Pull on the trigger a little to slow down the drill's speed. You can speed up the drill after the hole is started.

6. Completely drill through the tile. When the drill can move freely through the hole, you will know that you have completed drilling. You can use a toilet paper holder with 2 brackets and a springbar to drill the second hole the same way. Once you've drilled your holes, remove the tape.

7. Placing plastic anchors into the holes. Use a rubber mallet to hammer them into the tiles gently.

8. Use the included screws to attach the plates to the anchors.

9. Attach the toilet paper holder onto the plates. As much toilet paper as you need to fill the holder, place it on the plates.

The latest toilet roll holders are easier to install. Connect the bracket, get it straightened, and place the roll holder on top. Use the provided hex key to tighten the screws underneath t
